Losing a loved one is never easy and the process of estate administration does nothing to ease an already painful and uncertain period. Here’s how we can help:

• We will always begin by talking you through the process of estate administration, what needs to be done, the timescales and costs involved, if an application court is required, what documentation will be required etc, so that you can be best prepared.

• In many cases, a Grant of Confirmation (Probate being the English term) from the court will be required. This is a lengthy process but we will keep you updated every step of the way.

• We take care of everything including contacting all relevant institutions, obtaining Confirmation, ingathering funds, settling any unpaid balances and paying out funds to beneficiaries.

• If a Will was not left behind then that person's estate is deemed intestate. The process here differs slightly but again, we can assist every step of the way.

• We can also assist even if the Will was not prepared by us, as long as it is a valid Scottish Will.

• Should there be any Inheritance Tax due, we take care of the HMRC paperwork and ensure the tax is paid.
